Service-Learning is not only a useful technique for engaging youth during school time. Any organization interested in developing the power of youth can adapt the principles of Service-Learning to their own environments. Below, we have a number of media--Video, PowerPoint presentations, Blog discussions, and occasional webinars available for you to get inspired and educated about how to make this happen for your youth.

Community-Based Service-Learning
Faith-Based Service-Learning
It is highly recommended to watch the Community-Based video
first and then the Faith-Based video as the Faith-Based video builds on the
first.
A webinar occurred on Sept. 21st, 2009. Participants from around the United States shared their experiences linking Service-Learning to schools, community-, and faith-based groups. A few general observations were made:
1) Teachers in schools have so many pressures on them now that it's difficult to bring service-learning to fruition, even when teachers are supplied with curricula, service-project ideas, community partnerships, and continued support.
2) Community- and faith-based groups might be even more interested in service-learning as many of them are already doing community service and could easily adopt a service-learning model based on their own learning goals for youth.
